Just driving home from work tonight thinking, “Wow, it’s like November” – all of a sudden there’s wind howling and rain thumping against the door – and it ain’t much better inside the house. Thankfully we’ve a week to go before we need the temp turned up and the tourists to flock in. Mind you at least there isn’t any thunder on the way….

Yup….the Gala Blog Site is now “live” for all to see. So hello and welcome, dear readers….

So…. what will the themes be for this years floats ? As ever it’s a closely guarded secret, if traveling the backroads over the next week you never know what you’ll see parked down a lane, behind a barn….

Possibly it’s the weeds – not content with launching another take-over attack on my garden, they’re now trying to drive me out of the house as well. Whatever the reason, pollen seems to be filling the Portaferry air today, fellow sneezers, you have been warned !!! (Note to self….. why don’t we have a “most unkempt and weedfilled” garden section on the Attractive Gardens ? Weeds have feelings too, or so I’m told)

Hummmmm. Does this page have control of the weather ? Yesterday morning I complained about the rain… 2 hours later the sun was splitting the sky. Never underestimate the power of “The Gala Blog”.

I just KNEW I shouldn’t have made that post 3 weeks ago…. Rain, Rain, Rain…. just be long gone in 2 weeks time !!! (Now…where is my big yellow T-Shirt….)

ok, so fingers crossed the great weather we’re having this week lasts well into July – well, to the 23rd at least, hee hee hee. 29c in the town yesterday afternoon, wow !
