Wow! What a roasting hot Friday afternoon on the Square.

Thanks as always to everyone who came out to support the Children’s Fancy Dress, this event goes from strength to strength and is rapidly becoming a series of “mini floats”.

Ferry FM celebrated its 18th Birthday this year, having launched on 15th July 1995.  Our website www.portaferrytown.com also celebrates its 10th Birthday this year, having been launched in 2005.  To mark these events a special cake was baked which the radio presenters gladly got stuck into………. bearing in mind they demolished Paul Buckle’s birthday cake in seconds!

Gala Friday has arrived and what a warm day it is.  We were joined by Downtown Radio in the square.

Caroline and Susan from the Gala Committee were interviewed by Paul Orr on Downtown.

Congratulations to all who took part.  The winners were:-

During Gala Week teams of children aged 11-17 were involved on a challenge to complete various tasks during the week.

The winning team was “Havanagoodtimes” consisting of:- Louisa Buckle, Coleen McConnell and Dervla Coleman (missing from pic Hannah Toner)

The Runners Up in the challenge were “Made in China” and representing the team in the photo is Brendan McGrattan and Oran Dorrian.

Well done to everyone who entered Gala’s Kids Got Talent.  A great evening was had by all in the square.  All acts were judged by Kirsty McMurray from Downtown Radio and the winners were:-

1st: Lauren Clarke – Irish Dancing – Lord of the Dance
2nd: Charlie Adamson – Dancing Gangam Style
3rd: Sophoia Costello singing Jar of Hearts

Congratulations to Philip McDade (13yr) who was the winner of the X-Box FIFA Challenge held in the Community Centre.  Runner Up was Oran Dorrian (14 yr).  In Joint 3rd was Adam Toner and Oisin Dorrian.
