Thanks to the Crew from Castle Ward, you can come on down and join in the fun.

It was great to see so many people making willow lanterns on Saturday 28th for this years “River of Light”. (Is it me or does it get easier each year ???)

Don’t forget to come along and pick your lantern up next Saturday, in good time for the walk up to the Square. Lights will be going on 5pm, we’ll aim to be in the Square for 4.45pm.

Little Ones – don’t forget the Polar Express will be chugging around the town all Saturday Afternoon, come along, take a trip and then visit Santa at his fireside in the Market House.

Remember back in February Portaferry became a small town in Yorkshire ? Well if you’d like to see how it all turned out, have a look at Small Island, next Sunday on BBC1 Northern Ireland.

This year the Christmas lights will be switched on on Saturday the 5th of December. The lantern parade will also take place once again, finishing off at the tree in the Square,  in good time for “Lights On” at 5pm. 
Come along and join in the fun, Santa and his Elves will be in the Market House all afternoon and the Polar Express will be chugging around the town.

A big Thank You to everyone who came along to the Galloween Ghost Village for the Ugly Bug Ball and Fireworks on Halloween Night. We hope you had a good evening and your family had fun. We’ll have pictures of the event online shortly.

It was fantastic to see so many in the Market House tonight and hearting to have so many potential new members. There will be a meeting on Wednesday the 30th of September at 7.30pm, in the Market House  Portaferry, to discuss the future of Portaferry Gala.
As regular visitors to the site will know, many of the present committee are standing down this year and despite a number of appeals for new members to replace them, this hasn’t happened.
The remaining members simply can’t continue to run the Gala on their own. If you would like to join, or have suggestions which may help, please come along.

As you probably know, most of the present Committee are hanging up their Gala T-Shirts at the end of this year.
Without a new Committee to run it, there simply won’t be a Portaferry Gala in 2010.
If you really want to see the Gala continue, now is the time to act by joining the Committee or perhaps YOUR Portaferry based Group/Club can offer assistance with a particular event ?
