Little Flower 2009

night9

Congratulations to Emily Rose Peacock, the 2009 Little Flower of the County Down. Thank You to everyone who came along and took part and to all those who supported the event and cheered the Girls on in the Square. A special hello to all our online viewers who watched the event via our web-cam, we’ve had a record number of visitors to the site today, so hopefully the server will hold up for the rest of the week.
Thanks too, to Truth who played on stage “’till the sun went down” – pictures are now online, click here.

Rain, Rain, Go Away…..

Well, at least the trees kept the rain off ! There were Teddy Bears Galore in the Former Caravan Park beside Exploris this afternoon, everyone was having a great time, with the Wish Fairy, Face Painting, Jo Jangles and Monkeytastics, even when the rain came on, we all just headed for the trees….the Bears led the way !

Sunday By the Shore

The Paper Boats really are back ! What a great turn out, it was like a scene from a Gala back in the 70’s and really fantastic to see.
People lined the walls around the Slip to cheer on (or boo!), the brave Paper Boaters (well, have YOU dipped in the tide recently ???).
Thanks to everyone who took part and to everyone who came along and joined in the fun day out . The Irish Dancers gave their usual fantastic display, Exploris brought along a Touch Tank, Jackie’s Paper Boats Floated out to sea, the BBQ sizzled, the Rescue Crew were on show in Lough and the Air. If you missed it, never fear lots more Gala Fun to come this week.

Weather

Well, a big thanks to everyone who came along yesterday – anyone who was out in the morning or early afternoon probably escaped the “Mad Rain” which appeared from nowhere at 3 O’Clock. Thankfully it didn’t dampen spirits on the Square, Saturday night, a great range of music and very enthusiastic bands – again, thanks to everyone who came along and apologies to anyone who tried to log on via the web-cam. Due to the heavy rain it wasn’t set up in time – should be up and running from Monday onwards. Pictures from Saturday are online now.
